Three speeds need to be monitored separately at a wind power plant:

• The speed of the slowly turning rotor shaft
• The speed of the generator (switching threshold 1)
• The maximum speed of the generator (switching threshold 2)

Operating conditions outside normal limits need to be detected reliably at the wind power plant.

Solution:
The RheinTacho CRRA speed monitor has two separate relay outputs, which can be field programmed for switching operations (direction, threshold, hysteresis, opening, closing). They allow flexible monitoring solutions to be configured for wind power plants.
